Ganance · Our Story
My brother gave me a watch.
A diagnosis gave me a purpose.
I didn't set out to build a tech company. I wanted to solve a deeply personal problem. It turns out, a lot of people have a similar one.
The founding story
A story of family & legacy
As a first-generation Mexican-American, graduating from one of the top universities in the nation was an incredibly proud moment — for me and for my whole family. As a graduation present, my oldest brother bought me a beautiful Citizen Eco-Drive. A shiny new watch for a shiny new job in New York City.
I wore it every single day. It gave me the confidence to walk into IBM and take on New York. Then, around 2015, Fitbits and Apple Watches started gaining traction. I found myself wearing my watch less and less because I valued the data these new trackers could give me. The Citizen sat in a drawer.
"When my brother was diagnosed with a brain tumor, I remembered the watch collecting dust in my drawer — the one he gave me. Thankfully, he survived. But in that moment I asked myself: Why can't I have both? My watch and my data."
Over the last decade, wearables have done an excellent job proving that health data matters. But a real problem emerged: tech companies are making ugly watches, and watch companies are making bad tech products. Deciding to track your health shouldn't also mean sacrificing the style you love.
At Ganance, we're giving you back both. The Heir clips directly to the caseback of your existing watch using microsuction technology — no magnets, no adhesives, no compromises. Your watch stays on your wrist. Your data flows to your phone.
Thanks for being on this journey with us.

Deciding to track your health shouldn't, by default, also be a fashion choice. We're giving you back your style — and your data.
